Resources for the Title Professional

The NYSLTA is a timely communications channel between title professionals and State, county, and municipal governments. Federal laws and regulations from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, such as changes to the HUD-1 form are also provided to members.
 
Members have access to Recommended Practices, Bulletins from the NY State Department of Tax & Finance, formal opinions and circular letters issued by the Department of Financial Services, filing guidelines issued by county clerks, guidance on e-Recording, and support with land records systems such as ACRIS and PREP.

Municipal Fee Survey
 
Title Professionals conduct searches of county and municipal records to determine the status of a title and to discover outstanding claims. The local governments charge fees for accessing the records and printing reports. 
 
In December 2012 and January 2013, The NYSLTA Municipal Liaison Committee compiled a report on the fees charged by local governments.  Members should compare this information with the fees they are currently charged and are requested to notify the NYSLTA staff of any changers or updates.  Please send corrections and updates to: RGT@NYSLTA.ORG.
