Sales tax audits of title agents are being conducted in both Zone 1 and Zone 2.  Our aim is to provide Members with good information so they can operate in full compliance and be prepared for an audit when one is scheduled.

We are working to establish strong communication channels with the Department of Tax & Finance though our professional staff. This will give us a platform to help the Department understand our business and facilitate resolution of Member's concerns.

The Education Committee is preparing a credit-bearing Continuing Education course on Sales tax.

The Association is asking Members to submit your questions about sales tax. These inquiries will be collated and presented to the NYS Department of Tax & Finance. The Education Committee will also use these questions to inform a Continuing Education class on sales tax, currently being finalized.

Event Sponsorship

Sponsorship Opportunities:

• Education Materials - each attendee will receive a binder with the sponsor's logo in the front sleeve of the binder and any marketing material they would like inserted. (either in the back sleeve pocket or three hole punched).
• Room Sponsor - may bring marketing material and promotional items to hand out or display on chairs.  Note: There may be venues that have folding chairs when not occupied.
• Coffee/Breakfast/Snacks - may bring marketing material and promotional items to display on the buffet table.

Each sponsor is responsible for transporting their own marketing materials to the site.

All sponsors may bring signage.  

Guidelines

• Sponsors who plan to distribute materials should arrive no later than 1/2 hour before the event begins if they plan to distribute materials.
• Production ready art files (logo) once you have received confirmation of your sponsorship should be sent to the NYSLTA for announcement recognition as soon as possible, and no later that 1 week prior to the event.
• Sponsors will be secured on a "first come, first serve" basis once Regina has sent out the official email outlining the sponsorship opportunities for a specific event. Only an email response to that specific email will be accepted.
• If your company was a sponsor on the immediate preceding NYSLTA hosted event, preference may be given to other member companies for the upcoming program. (This does not apply to other functions of the LTA such as the annual convention).
