The Legislative Committee monitors bills in the State Assembly and State Legislature that have potential to impact the title insurance business.
Bills are reviewed by a team of title professionals and rated for action, further monitoring, or dismissed as not relevant. A range of responses are available, which may include issuing a memo in support or opposition, extended conference with a bill's sponsor, and/or assistance in re-drafting legislation to address the Association's concerns.
The Legislative Committee is the nucleus of the Association's Advocacy and Lobby Day activities.
