Land Records Committee

2025 – 2026 Membership Year

Chair  Elizabeth Alonso, Old Republic National Title

Co-chair  Nicole Ormandy, Stewart Title

The Land Records Committee oversees one of the most important aspects of the title insurance profession, which is contributing to the integrity of the public land records system.

Land records in New York State are - with only very few exceptions - under the authority and responsibility of the County Clerk.

The title insurance industry is one of the heaviest users of land records and - in the form of the title agent - an integral part in the constant improvement in land records.

The Land Records Committee maintains close cooperation with the public sector recording officials in all 62 counties. NYSLTA disseminates updates to title professionals to advise of changes and procedures set by the different counties.

When a Member encounters difficulties recording documents or researching records, the Land Records Committee is the facility to expedite solutions.
