NYSLTA 2022 Annual Meeting & Convention

The NYSLTA Convention and Annual Meeting

Sunday, August 21 - Wednesday, August 23

Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina

All title insurance professionals are welcome.

Founded in 1921, the New York Land Title Association celebrates its Centennial Year overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, in Newport, Rhode Island.  Gurney’s Resort and Marina will be the venue for our Annual Meeting and Convention.

After two unprecedented years of record-breaking volume amid a global pandemic, title professionals will come together for well-earned relaxation and to reconnect in-person.

In many of the interviews conducted for the 100th Anniversary celebration, we repeatedly heard of the importance of the personal and professional relationships that started at an Annual Meeting.  No other event provides so many opportunities to create a direct relationship with the leading lights of the New York title insurance industry.

Our event starts Sunday evening with a Welcome Reception at the Waterfront Pavillion, followed by a social event hosted by the Title Agents Political Action Committee.  Both events are casual affairs so come as you are, in your traveling clothes.

Monday morning is when we get the work done. Each Section will hold a separate breakfast meeting to review the past 12-months, elect its Chair and Vice-chair and set the tone for the coming Membership Year.

Up next is the General Session, in which we conduct the nomination and election of Officers for 2022-23.  We are also honored to welcome ALTA President-elect Jack Rattikin, who will bring us news of ALTA’s ongoing engagement with the CFPB, the GSEs and the Houses of Congress.

Midday is a luncheon to present our highest honor, the Sharon Sabol Award of Honorary Lifetime Membership to Marvin Bagwell. This is always a moving and heartfelt moment to set aside the business talk and industry issues to recognize a retired colleague.

Monday afternoon is free time for you to explore historic Newport or relax in the plush amenities of Gurney’s Resort.

Monday night, you will set aside your casual resort wardrobe and put on your finery to attend the Officers’ Dinner Dance. Yes, there will be some speeches and a formal induction ceremony, but the focus is on good food and drink, good music and people dancing to the limits of their natural talent.

On Tuesday, we will offer a CE/CLE and a panel discussion on the impact of cannabis normalization in agricultural land, and properties used for processing, distribution and retailing on the commercial real estate sector.

The morning concludes with a meeting of the Executive Committee presided over by the newly elected Officers.

On Tuesday night, the Charitable Works Committee presents its Seventh Annual Auction. So fill your plate with good food and empty your pockets for a good cause.

With the exception of the Officers’ Dinner Dance, attire is business casual appropriate for a historic sea-faring resort town.   Attendees will be required to wear their badges to all events.

On-site registration will not be available. People who arrive without having pre-registered cannot be accommodated and will not be admitted to the events.

NYSLTA Members must log-in before registering to enjoy preferred pricing.
