The problems continue with the County Clerk's computer system in Nassau County.
The uncertainty and disruption during this change-over has not always brought out the best in any of us.
I have no doubt that this situation was not what County Clerk O'Connell or her staff ever wanted.
There will be days when progress is two steps forward and one step back - get used to it. That is the 21st Century world of software enabled commerce.
We will continue to monitor and report on this situation as it resolves and we look forward to improved channels of communication with Clerk O'Connell on a regular basis.

Things at the Clerks Office are very fluid. There are changes constantly occurring throughout the day.
For example, the way names are searched for jmts changed from Friday to Monday, Lis Pendens were taken out of land records and can only be found if you search global S/B/L. There are some issues with jmts that do not show satisfied in the new system. That seems to be improving.
One of the problems with the changes is that all of the changes are made without any word. You find out only by using the system.
I have no doubt that they are working to correct the problems but right now you need to use both systems to search a title. This will cause problems for the agents because between searching on two systems and standing on lines it takes about twice as long to do searches. As we know, this business is time sensitive.
I think the fact that they have not gone online yet speaks volumes as to how the Clerks Office feels about the Xerox system right now.
